KTN news anchor Akisa Wandera has broken her silence, talking about her absence for the past few weeks at the studios and the circumstances around it.
Talking earlier, Akisa revealed that she had contracted Covid-19 and had been out battling the disease for the past two weeks.
The newswoman went ahead to warn Kenyans and the general public to adhere to the strict guidelines laid down by the Ministry of health to avoid contracting and spreading the dreaded disease.
“Daily reminder to wear your mask and take all necessary precautions. That virus has shown me terrible things these past two weeks,” she stated.
She however revealed that she was on her road to recovery and that she was showing all indications to the same.
Prior to her contracting the disease, Wandera had hosed health CAS Mercy Mwangangi, on her show Front Row where they discussed Kenya handling the disease.
According to recent reports, Kenya’s total confirmed positive cases stand at 105, 973, with total recoveries at 86,678 and a total number of deaths at 1856.
This comes as the Country had secured the vaccine for the virus with the first batch arriving in the Country by tomorrow March 2, 2021.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe stated that the vaccine composed of 1.02 Million doses to arrive first, of the 4.1 million doses.
Front health workers will be considered first for the vaccine with CS warning people not to drop their protection.
“The arrival of the vaccine does not mean that we drop our guards. We are not yet out of the woods. The world does not have enough vaccines for everyone at the moment,” Kagwe advised.
