Killfi Governor Amos Kingi has on Tuesday, August 10th spoke on his removal as the Orange Democratic Party(ODM) chairperson.
In a statement on his social media page,Kingi penned a farewell statement expressing his gratitude to ODM leader Raila Odinga and the part leadership for the opportunity they had accorded him for the last nine years as the Kilifi County Chairman.
“As i respect the decision of the ODM party to replace me as the Kilifi ODM party chairman,i wish to take this opportunity to thank the party and more particularly the party leader the Rt Hon.Raila Odinga for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Kilifi ODM chairman for the past nine years,”Kingi stated.
The Governer wished the current nomimated Ganze MP,Teddy Mwambire,and the party the best as it prepare for the 2022 general election.
“I wish the party the very best,not just in Kilifi county but across the country as it prepares it self for the 2020 General Election,”Kingi added.
Kingi was replaced by Teddy Mwambire after being accused of being disloyal and having aligned himself with a new political party.He has been spearheading formation of Jumuia Coastal Political party as a way to increase the stake for coastal region in the 2022 politics.
This has seen him clash with a section of ODM leaders in the region,who have been calling for his removal from the chairmanship position.
