Kiambaa MP thanks DP Ruto for support but DP rubbishes this

Yesterday’s church service at the Latter Glory Worship Center in Gashie, Kiambaa constituency attended by the DP risked turning into a comedy of the absurd. This was after the area member of parliament and recently elected UDA legislator John Njuguna Wanjiku gave a speech that minutes later his chief guest and political mentor Deputy President William Ruto would completely tear to shreds.

John Njuguna Wanjiku who is the first and only member of parliament elected on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket so far rose to speak during the church service and praised the Deputy President for his support and his network. He made it clear in so many words, that were it not for the DP, he wouldn’t have succeeded in the hotly contested by-election.

However, on his part, when the DP spoke, he said that Wanjiku’s win was miraculous because he was an obscure politician who didn’t have any support or political networking. Seeking to completely distance himself from the MP’s initially assertion, the DP said that Wanjiku had won despite no financial support from anyone and no backing from any notable political figure.

Following his travails in Kiambaa yesterday, the DP wrote on his online accounts,

The Hustler Nation’s priority is the creation of jobs and wealth for the millions of deprived Kenyans at the bottom of the economic pyramid. We commit to this revolutionary plan through our deliberate institution of a pro-business ecosystem where small enterprises can unlock their potential and flourish.

The votes difference between the two was 510. Evans Wainaina of the People Party of Kenya (PPK) came in third with a paltry 80 votes.
