Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala and his predecessor Bonny Khalwale endured scorned and ridicule even as they took a photo together smiling and making merry in an apparent effort to show that there’s no bad blood between them. Worth noting is that all this comes hot on the heels of the Purity Ngirici-Anne Waiguru fallout which saw the vocal Women Representative bolt out of UDA.
It was the Kakamega senator who posted a photo of himself with Dr. Khalwale, to which the doctor replied positively, sharing feelings of warmth and camaraderie.
While this attracted praise from a section of their followers, it also attracted scorn from some who felt that all that was but a desperate move to prove they had no ill feelings towards each other. A follower by the name Nicholas Gooner Havi sarcastically wrote,

Even as reports of an impending Ngirici-Waiguru carbon-copy UDA fallout involving Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala and his predecessor Bonny Khalwale continued to spread all over in the first week of January, Dr. Bonny Khalwale dismissed the news purporting that he has taken offense at the apparent newfound camaraderie between Senator Malala and UDA boss Deputy President William Ruto. Terming earlier reports to that effect on social media as fake, Khalwale posted, on his Twitter handle, a screenshot of the article which claimed that he had a bone to pick with his party leader.
The posted article alleged that Khalwale was indignant by the “fact” that DP Ruto had gone ahead and endorsed Malala for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat yet he, Khalwale, had tirelessly campaigned for the DP. According to the article which has now been dismissed as misleading, Khalwale promised to go the same way Ngirici went.
Deputy President William Ruto on 31st December attended a football tournament organised by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala at Mumias Sports Complex, Kakamega County.
The arrival of the DP happened shortly after the Azimio La Magaharibi rally held at Bukhungu stadium came to an end.
DP Ruto, who was from another sports tournament in Sirisia Constituency, Bungoma County, was welcomed by Senator Malala and former Sports CS Rashid Echesa.
