On March 16th, about a week ago, Kenyan Report went out on a limb to predict a major impending fallout in the tanga tanga camp which was going to see Didmas Barasa abandon the Jubilee faction.
At a time when almost all other media outlets were concentrating on other stories, Kenyan Report, through its capable political networks went ahead to inform its esteemed readers of what was on the way coming.
Titled under the header, Kositany attacks Didmas Barasa! Cracks in tanga tanga over Kabuchai loss, or just a misunderstanding?, the publication went ahead to highlight an incident of which we had received reliable information on concerning Didmas Barasa.
It was in the aftermath of the devastating Kabuchai loss that the UDA party had endured in the hands of Ford Kenya. Despite spirited efforts by Didmas Barasa and other Western Kenya leaders from the region to drum up support for the UDA candidate, the Ford Kenya candidate Majimbo Kalasinga went on to win with a landslide, totally decimating all the other competitors in the race.
We were thus reliably informed that this was causing a major rift in the tanga tanga camp, with some of the DP’s close confidants attacking Didmas Barasa for enjoying an endless supply of support from the DP, yet failing to deliver any tangible results.
Things escalated to a whole different level when Caleb Kositany who is considered the DP’s unofficial spokesman mentioned Didmas Barasa alongside Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala as those who are responsible for fanning violence in the Western by-elections, and who should be behind bars.
True to our prediction, less than twenty-four hours ago it seems like the center could no longer hold, and the delicate basket has bust at the seams.
The Kimilili MP yesterday released a statement just fell short of disowning tanga tanga. Didmas announced that he wouldn’t be taking part in any of the tanga tanga campaigns but would Instead concentrate his efforts on the quest for Luhya Unity.
