Former vice-president and Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, who ironically, is renown for his mediation and reconciliatory efforts during his days as a Foreign Affairs Minister, is incidentally responsible for the Radio Jambo show that also deals with reconciliation suffering a black out.
Patanisho is a segment that features within Radio Jambo’s popular morning show, Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi. It is about reconciling two feuding parties who have had a falling out. One of the sides usually calls in seeking the assistance of Gidi and Ghost to help them mend fences and restore warm relations. However, yesterday it couldn’t continue, and Gidi was all too willing to disclose that this was all because of the former Vice-president’s presence in the studio earlier on.
He said that the technical team which was in charge of the interview messed up the communication cables, and this meant the show couldn’t continue.
Earlier on, the Wiper party leader had attended an interview on the station and declared he would be in the President Uhuru Kenyatta succession race to the end.
He dismissed assertions that the One Kenya Alliance leaders were being whipped to support ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The former Vice President in an interview with Radio Jambo on Wednesday morning said his team was yet to make official the direction it intends to take in the 2022 presidential race.
“It is not our first time to be doing these things…were are not dragging because we are being pushed to support Raila,” he said.
“There is nothing like being whipped to support Raila. From the two or three meetings, it is normal in a democracy for the President to speak with leaders,” Kalonzo said.
He added that OKA was preparing and will give a lineup when the right time comes.
“When preparing a first 11 for a football match, you can’t speak of the lineup one year to the match.”
“Our hope is that we will reveal our lineup soon,” the former VP added.
He added that meetings with President Kenyatta have been largely about how to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
