Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has maintained that Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi is the right man to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta upon his retirement in 2022.
In his statement, Malala said that the Amani National Congress party leader’s name will be in ballot box come 2022 Presidential election adding that he has vast experiences from the past regimes in which he served.
“Hon Musalia Mudavadi, leaving no stone unturned in the journey to state house come 2022. From Mombasa to the rest of the country, ANC steadily readies to take over the leadership of this country,” Malala stated.
Reports revealed that there are ongoing coalition talks among the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals, which include; Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Gideon Moi (KANU).
His statement comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta had invited the One Kenya Alliance Principals for a meeting in Mombasa County on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 with a view to unite the leaders.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga also attended the secrete meeting.
According to the statement from the State House, the leaders discussed the effects of Covid-19 and the Country’s economy during the coastal meeting. However sources privy to the meeting revealed that there were also some talks on 2022 General Election.
“Among the subjects discussed by the leaders were COVID-19’s impact on the country and how to revamp the economy; and the importance of maintaining peace, unity and national cohesion,” a statement from the State House read.
