Nominated Jubilee party Senator Victor Prengei has passed on in a grisly road accident in Nakuru County after sustaining serious injuries.
Prengei, who was nominated by the Jubilee Party to represent the youth and minorities in the Senate was involved in an accident in Giotto area of Nakuru town on Monday night, August 16, 2021.
The Senator was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Nakuru County where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the facility.
The incidence was confirmed by the area police boss Beatrice Kiraguri.
Reports reveals that the accident happened at around 9.45 pm when the senator was heading towards Kabarak from Nakuru town.
The nominated Jubilee lawmaker passed on at the age of 36.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to War Memorial Hospital.
In his message of condolence, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui described the late Senator as a quiet and humble leader.
“He was a quiet and humble leader, always conscious of the huge burden he carried.” Kinyanjui stated.
“To the family and the people of Marioshoni, our hearts and prayers during these difficult times,” He added.
The departed youthful Senator hailed from the minority Ogiek community. He made history in the year 2017 when he became the first member of his community to serve in Parliament.
Gilgil Member of Parliament Martha Wangari was among the first political leaders to mourn the youthful Jubilee legislator.
“This life Nakuru and the country mourns the loss of nominated Senator Victor Prengei following a road accident this evening,” Wangari said.
