Joho gets loose, accuses ODM of sabotaging Msambweni by-election

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s team now claims that ODM sabotaged Msambweni by-election deliberately in order to paint Joho as a political novice in the coastal region.

The team revealed that the operation was done from Chungwa House with those in charge not considering implications of the loss on ODM leader Raila Odinga’s posturing in the coastal region.

Their main mission was to paint Joho in bad light, our source revealed.

Unlike in Matungu where ODM mobilized all elected leaders; MPs, senators and women reps to give Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya campaign support, the team says in Msambweni, ODM abandoned Joho forcing him to use his family and staff to campaign with his own funds.

KR understands that Joho has since talked to Raila about the issue.

Feisal Bader who is allied to Deputy President William Ruto emerged victorious in the by-election after beating ODM’s Omar Boga by over 5,000 votes.

Bader garnered 15,251 votes, while Boga came second with 10,444 votes.

Later, ODM acknowledged Bader as the winner of the Parliamentary seat after their candidate Omar Boga lost.

“Congratulations to all winners in yesterday’s by-elections especially @ The ODM party candidates in Kisumu North and Dabaso Wards. We came up short in Msambweni and Wundanyi /Mbale but we regroup and forge ahead. Thanks to all our teams everywhere for the great effort,” said Sifuna in a tweet.
