Former Gem Member of Parliament Washington Jakoyo Midiwo has taken a swipe at the Jubilee party government, issuing his candid advice ahead of what appears as a continued purge.
Speaking to K24 yesterday March 2, 2021, Jakoyo warned the government against evicting Deputy President William Ruto from his official government residence in Karen Nairobi.
The staunch ODM member stated that Dr. Ruto still remains the DP despite falling out with his boss, and further warned against those around the President of plotting to evict him from the Karen house.
“It is wrong for the people around the president to want to remove the DP from his residence because we have to agree no matter what he is still the deputy president of the country,” Midiwo said.
This was after the Jubilee party Deputy chairman David Murathe revealed that plans were underway to kick the DP out of the house.
While speaking to KTN news on Thursday, February 25th the former Gatanga legislator stated that the second in command was living on borrowed times at the hustler mansion.
“The eviction party from the hustler’s mansion is loading. That one you can take it to the bank. Very soon they will be an eviction party from the hustler’s mansion in Karen and I can assure it will happen,” Murathe confidently said.
This comes amid the frosty relationship between the DP, his allies, and the President Kenyatta side since the handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The 2018 bromance has seen a number of DP’s allies kicked out of their plum positions both in the senate and the National Assembly.
The continued purge saw the last DP Ruto man standing Caleb Kositany being ousted from his party deputy secretary-general position on Monday 1,2021 by Raphael Tuju through a press statement.
…in the exercise of its mandate as provided for under Article 7(2) of the Jubilee Party Constitution, removed Caleb Kositany from the position of deputy secretary-general with immediate effect,” read the statement in part.
