Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria today morning sent the netizens into a frenzy with his controversial message just in the wake of Chief Justice’s Maraga advisory on Parliamentary dissolution.
Taking to his Twitter account, the Gatundu law-maker said that the rule was a mistake and a bad dream that needs to be scraped off the constitution.
The legislator tweeted about the two-thirds gender rule that is threatening to throw the country off-balance with Parliamentary dissolution in the offing.
Kuria went ahead to state that the only way out of the current standoff on the rule is to resolve it through a parliamentary system by changing the current constitution, to have it expunged from the document.
The legislator said they were ready as a house to face the reality and deal with the rule as parliamentarians.
“The only solution to the two-thirds gender rule impasse is to change the constitution through parliament to remove the requirement for the two-third gender rule. We are ready. It was a mistake. A bad dream. That’s the reality we need to face,” tweeted Moses Kuria.
His message elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, with some expressing their disappointments at such words coming from a leader, and others of a contrary opinion.
