IPOA launches investigations into death of Kayole man.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has announced a probe into the killings of a man in Kayole estate, Nairobi.

John Kiiru, 38, was allegedly beaten up to death for violating the 10pm-4am curfew order by police officer enforcing the the law.

His body was found lying at the assault site on Thursday morning, prompting protest from Angry resident who took to the street to protest kiiru death, barricading roads and lighting bonfires.

IPOA chairperson Ann Makori in a statement said the authority received information on the death as they seek to establish whether the deceased succumbed to injuries allegedly caused by police officers enforcing curfew orders.

she promised to take appropriate action should the officers involved be found culpable. She further reiterated to make recommendations to the relevant state agencies and apprise the public of its findings.
