Inside Shared NASA Billions Amid Reports Of Coalition Disintegration

Following an agreement between ODM party leader Raila Odinga and other co-NASA principals to share the political parties funds, details have emerged of a tabulation of what each party will receive from the shareable funds.

In a written letter to his other co-principals ODM leader Raila Odinga agreed to share the sum of 153 Million shillings of the funds with the other principal members, retaining Ksh334.563 million of the funds.

Of the shareable funds, the Kalonzo Musyoka led Wiper Democratic movement party will receive the lions share of 70.4 Million shillings of the funds.

The Amani National Congress belonging to Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi will then receive the second largest share of the funds at 43.8 Million Shillings of the shareable amount.

Moses Wetangula-led Ford Kenya will receive Ksh36.04 million of the funds, a huge sigh of relief to the party leader Moses Wetangula, who has for a long time pushed for the sharing of the funds by the Orange party.

Former Bomet County Governor Isaac Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani party will receive the smallest amount of money of the four parties, standing at Ksh3.08 million.

Isaac Ruto has since moved on teaming up in support of the Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 general elections and may channel the funds towards the DP’s course.

The Orange Democratic Movement party only shared the money accrued between the years 2017 and 2020, where the party received the sum of Ksh487 million.

The former prime minister’s led party only agreed to share the sum total based on the number of seats in the National Assembly and the Senate and not on the number of ward representatives and Governors.

The political parties funds are now available to the the NASA principals, and will possibly help in ending the unhealthy exchanges between the former principals toning down the animosity.
