Inside Jimi Wanjigi’s plans to take over ODM Party ahead of 2022

For years after assuming the role of Kingmaker, City based billionaire and Presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjigi has revealed intentions to take over the mantle ant the Orange Democratic Movement Party.


Reports from Daily Nation today Thursday July 8, 2021, indicate that tycoon is ready to battle for the party ticket with ODM leader Raila Odinga ahead of 2022 polls.


Wanjigi noted that having been a life time Orange Democratic Movement party member, he is keen on rising to the peak, trying his hand at being the king in 2022, adding that he has all it takes.


“I’ll be running for the ODM ticket and I’ll be taking on Raila Odinga and that will be my presidential ticket.


“As an ODM life member, I have what it takes to lead the party and the country, into the future,” the billionaire told the publication.


Speaking last month on Wednesday June 16, 2021, Wanjigi laid it bare that he will be going for the top seat in 2022, and that he will be in active politics seeking to be the king and not the king maker.


He has been an active bank roller to a number of politicians in various elections with his notable clients being Raila Odinga, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.


A video of hats made with his initials recently deed rounds online, further confirming his intentions to grab the top seat.


His aspirations comes at a time when the Raila Odinga led ODM party is geared towards severing ties with other NASA co principals to pave way for a merger with the Jubilee party ahead of 2022.


Raila though has never made his intentions clear on vying for the Presidency in 2022, but political analysts have continuously put the race as between Raila and DP Ruto.


The Orange party recently waived its membership registration fee for a period of three months to encourage new members to be recruited in the party under instructions from the party leader.
