Inside 6 hours meeting between DCI boss Kinoti and Mwenda Mbijiwe’s mother at DCI headquarters

Following former Kenya Airforce Commander Mwenda Mbijiwe’s mysterious disappearance, the Victims mother yesterday met the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for six hours.

Reports indicate that Jane Mbijiwe the mother to Mwenda Mbijiwe met George Kinoti at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu road.

This was after the mother got convinced that there was a foul play in the mysterious disappearance of her son and thought a sit down with Kinoti would give a brief on the development of her son’s case.

The family of the security expert had lamented that they were kept on the dark since the police took over their kin’s case.

Jane hoped that a one on one meeting with the DCI boss would keep her a breast with the proceedings around her son’s mysterious disappearance.

The mother was reported to have travelled to Nairobi after the reports appeared that the police had traced the car he had rented before his disappearance.

She however declined to speak to the media after the lengthy talk with the DCI boss.

Speaking from his Meru County, Mbijiwe’s uncle noted that the mother could stay away at Nairobi until his son was found, adding that they were hopeful he is still alive.

He continued that his Meru residents too were also surprised with news of Mbijiwe’s disappearance and had asked the DCI to speed up the case.

The victim was a gubernatorial aspirant for Meru County on an ODM ticket in the last general election, where he came second after giving the Current governor Kiraitu Murungi a run for his money.

His sister Tamara had filed a missing person’s report at the Central police station on Saturday, June 12.

Police are yet to contact and question Edward Mwangi the businessman whom Mbijiwe had hired out his car to Mbijiwe.

The businessman disclosed that the ex-KDF officer had hired his car for three weeks with part of the money already paid, the vehicle was found vandalized and parked at Kamiti Corner.
