In what is now beginning to take on the form and shape of a comedy, the barrage of criticisms and insults which were unleashed against the Interior CS by tanga tanga members following his appearance in Parliament have been dramatised by Kimani Ichungwa’s latest claims.
The member of parliament for Kikuyu, who also happens to be one of the leading members of the Tanga Tanga wing of Jubilee now says that Fred Matiang’I sent him insulting texts through a string of messages on the communication platform WhatsApp. However, before Ichungwa could even reply, or perhaps inquire more on the motivation behind the hostile messages, he found that Matiang’I had already blocked him.
In the evidently angry rant which was posted on his Twitter handle, Kimani Ichungwa referred to the tough-talking Interior Cabinet Secretary as a coward who wasn’t bold enough to entertain a response for his insults. Ichungwa went ahead to demand that Matiang’I unblock him, failure to which he was going to share screenshots of all the alleged insults publicly on the internet. The tweet read,
Now @OleItumbi pls ask the #Ruaraka_land_thief not to be a coward to send me insulting texts on WhatsApp then block me 2 avoid a response.Pls,I need 2 respond to him for him to gerrit we don’t buy fear frm thieves.Ask him to unblock or if we can share screenshot of the messages?
The tirade against the Interior CS began about a week ago after Fred Matiang’I’s now popular appearance in Parliament. During his appearance, the CS issued a controversial list of properties which he claimed belong to the deputy president, and said that they were all under protection by the state. He said this while dismissing claims that the DP had been left without any guards Matiang’I later on said that there was in fact a plan to reduce the number of guards looking after the Deputy President.
The DP later came out to disown some of the properties on the list, claiming that not all of them belonged to him.
