Outspoken Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has finally blurted out on the current state of affairs with Deputy President William Ruto’s team after being labelled a mole despite argument he is the force behind the team’s success.
Speaking in Kigumo Murang’a County, yesterday Tuesday August 24, 2021, the vocal legislator challenged the team on how he would be a mole for a sitting President who had declared his desire leave office ahead of 2022 polls.
The ardent DP Ruto supporter urged those fueling the talk within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) outfit to change the conversation.
“I’m not going to stand here and allow someone to accuse me of being deep state. President Uhuru Kenyatta pronounced that he’s going home. So how can I be deep state for someone who is going home? Let’s change the conversation,” Kuria stated.
The Chama Cha Kazi party leader, claimed the bragging rights of the DP Ruto linked UDA outfit’s recent success in the Kiambaa mini polls.
Moses Kuria stated that the party would not have gained victory were it not for his intervention in the jubilee stronghold.
According to Kuria, the party had been faced with series of losses in the previous by-elections while his People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) was new and gaining victory in the just concluded Juja by-elections.
Kuria was however displeased that the United Democratic Alliance party claimed the hard earned Juja position as one of their own.
“I went ahead to win in Juja and after that, all these people, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and co. neither helped nor contributed in any way.
“They were there praising my victory as one for the hustler nation, I don’t know when this changed and when I became a criminal or an outcast for Gachagua to go all over blasting me because I have a party,” he wondered.
Kuria further made it clear that the DP linked party had a debt to settle for the donkey work he displayed during the recent Kiambaa by-election and should support his candidate in the next by-elections.
The pressure between the DP team and Kuria has been nearing boiling point in the past with the fallout playing in the DP’s recent Parliamentary Group meeting where he addressed Kuria’s absence at the meeting.
“Tell them that the only PEP MP who belongs to the hustler nation (George) Koimburi is here,” Ruto told Garissa MP Aden Duale during the presser.
