Haji’s son Abdikadir Mohamed endorsed to succeed him

The late Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji’s son Abdikadir Mohamed has been endorsed to succeed his father for the leadership mantle of Garissa County.

Abdikadir Mohamed, popularly known as Abdul Haji was endorsed by two major clans of Abduwak and Aulihan barely a day after his father’s clan of Abdalla had endorsed him.

His endorsement ceremony was held at a hotel in Garissa county.

Speaking shortly after the event, the late Garissa Senator’s son promised to carry the leadership mantle left behind by his father.

“Yangu ni kufuata amri na kutoa ahadi ya kwamba niko na viongozi wetu na tutashikana na wao,” Abdikadir said.

Several leaders among them Garissa Governor Ali Korane and former National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale attended the ceremony.

Governor Korane, on his part, stated: “Wale wengine ambao pia wanataka hii kiti ni watoto wetu…tutazungumza nao tuone ya kwamba huyu kijana wetu ameingia kwa hiyo kiti unopposed.”

“In memory of our leader, our great son, in memory of a man who served this country, we have unanimously agreed (to endorse his son),” Duale said.
