Gathoni Wamuchomba ditches Kieleweke for DP. Ruto Camp, ahead of 2022 amid pressure

A big boost to the Deputy President William Ruto and the hustler camp following the recent move by the Kiambu County Woman representative Gathoni Wamuchomba to join the house.

Confirming the same while speaking to Kenyan report, Wamuchomba noted that she was aligning herself with the second in command ahead of the 2022, leaving the president’s camp.

The legislator noted that her people had been pushing her to joining the right team in readiness for the general election.

“I am aligning myself with the DP because that is where my people want me to be,” she stated.

This is after whispers were all over when the photos of the woman representative together with Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa appeared at DP Ruto’s home.

The MP was welcomed into the hustler house by nominated senator Millicent Omanga with speculations rife that she was already a DP supporter.

“Warmest welcome to the hustler nation Kiambu Woman MP Gathoni Wamuchomba,” nominated senator Millicent Omanga stated.

The new development came with a section of leaders expressing their views following the decamping of the Woman Representative.

“One of these days we will need to discuss how and why we keep losing our friends and allies. This one is hard small. The timing couldn’t be worse!” political analyst Lydia Mathia stated.

Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu expressed his sadness at her leaving the Kieleweka camp, but otherwise respected her decision.

He called for a swift move in the ruling outfit so as to prevent more party luminaries from decamping to other coalitions.

“I don’t agree with her, but this doesn’t change the respect I have for her. I wish her well as we now engage from across each other, politically.”

“For those of us who still believe in Jubilee, this is a lesson and a warning. Let’s focus on what’s important, as we fix this party. Then we will stop the loss of more valuable players,” he added.

This comes as nominated senator Millicent Omanga disagrees with the star publication on DP Ruto’s running mate.

“Is the @TheStarKenya newspaper competing with other gossip tabloids on spreading rumours and fake news? The story about DP Ruto’s runningmate is a fertile imagination.” Omanga wrote.
