Frustrations rocks DP Ruto’s camp as Counties perceived to be his strongholds unanimously passed BBI Bill

Frustrations and confusion has hit Hustler brigade as Pro-Deputy President William Ruto’s Counties pulled a surprise outcome after their Members of County Assembly (MCAs) passed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill.

The Counties regarded as Deputy President William Ruto’s stronghold had been widely expected to follow in the footsteps of Baringo County in rejecting the proposed Constitutional Amendment bill in vain.

Bomet and Nakuru Counties are among the Counties perceived to be the strongholds of DP Ruto that voted yes for the BBI bill.

The following are some of the remarks that were made by some Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from the region:

Samuel Keter, Rongena/Manaret Ward MCA said: “I have been in touch with my people on the ground and they have already decided that this document is good for posterity.”

Weldon Kirui, Kipsonoi MCA, said; “We’re not making any political statement, but we are seeing the document for being the pro-people of Bomet.”

The MCAs who voted for the BBI bill, stated that the document will address the issues that are affecting Kenyans at the County level.

KANU Secretary General Nick Salat lauded the move by the Members of County Assembly to pass the bill.

So far 41 County Assemblies have voted for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) bill with only Baringo County having voted against the bill.
