A section of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party supporters on Sunday, June 13, 2021 invaded a rally that was organized by their counterparts from the Jubilee Party in Kiambaa constituency.
According to the Photos and a video that was shared on the social media platform from the event showed a group of youth wearing yellow attires while carrying UDA banners and a wheelbarrow storming the Jubilee party campaign caravan.
The rowdy youth are seen cheering and dancing as their Jubilee counterparts who were wearing red attire calmly look on.
The campaigns for the Kiambaa by-election which is set for July 15, 2021 has gained momentum with the two rival groups from the Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA party and that of his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.
This comes after the Jubilee party had unveiled Kariri Njama as its preferred candidate while UDA party fronted John Njuguna Wanjiku for the Kiambaa by-election parliamentary contest.
The Kiambaa parliamentary seat felt vacant following the death of the former area Member of Parliament Paul Koinange popularly known as Wakapee.
The much anticipated Kiambaa polls come barely weeks after the Rurii Ward and Juja parliamentary by-elections in which the Jubilee party lost in both the two by-elections.
