Deputy President William Ruto ended the year 2020 in style flanked by politicians allied to the Tanga Tanga political outfit and celebrating key achievements made in 2020 and firing his support base.
Ruto asserted that his march to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is rapidly shaping up and slammed his political rivals for selling tribalism and political con-games.
The politically-charged message was delivered at his last political rally in Ukunda.
He noted that the victory in Msambweni by-elections where one of his biggest victories of 2020 was realized is a tip of the iceberg of what Kenyans should expect in the race to 2022.
The second in command led a strong team to a rally at Dr. Babla grounds to thank the people of Msambweni for overwhelmingly voting in Feisal Bader in the Msambweni parliamentary by-elections that saw him hand a humiliating defeat to the two handshake brothers, Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta and their candidate Omar Boga.
The second in command boldly asserted that the win of Feisal Bader has bolstered his march to State House in 2022.
“The journey towards 2022 has gained momentum. I want to thank the Msambweni people for electing Feisal. This is a new awakening for the people of Kenya.
“You have refused to be sold ethnicity, politics of divisions, chest-thumping, threats, and political party dominance. You have broken a new record in Kenya’s politics,” said DP Ruto.
Among those in attendance were Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, his Turkana counterpart Josphat Nanok, more than 20 MPs, and several senators including nominated senator Issac Mwaura.
