A grieving Deputy President William Ruto today mourned former Pentagon Member Joe Nyagah with an emotional message.
Ruto recounted Nyaga’s illustrious career in civil service and politics that saw them both serve in The Pentagon that saw Raila Odinga face off with Mawai Kibaki in the 2007 general elections.
He hailed the deceased as a selfless leader who took development seriously throughout his career.
“We have lost a selfless, bold, visionary and industrious leader who took exceptional honour in public service. Honourable Joe Nyagah was a vocal, responsive and development-conscious leader. He was amiable, steadfast and a dedicated campaigner for a better, more cohesive, more inclusive and more transformed Kenya.” Wrote Ruto.
The second in command also noted that the counsel and modest personality of the deceased will be missed, writing:
“We will miss his wise counsel and modest personality. Our deep thoughts and prayers are with the Nyagah family and their loved ones during this difficult time. Rest In Peace, Honourable Nyagah. “
Nyaga was a member of the pentagon alongside Najib Balala, Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi.
He passed on at the age of 72 with reports indicating that he may have succumbed due to Covid-19 complications.
