DP Ruto’s ally reveals details about the broken marriage between Uhuru and Raila

Former Senate Majority leader Irungu Kang’ata claims that the political marriage between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) partner Raila Odinga has hit the rock.

While speaking on Sunday, March 7, 2021, the Murang’a Senator claimed that the government has been intimidating and frustrating leaders from the Mount Kenya region who have been opposed to the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“We warned President Uhuru not to enter into political alliances with Raila but he refused and then the government started fighting us. Now he sees himself,  Kang’ata said.

Kang’ata alleged that leaders from Mount Kenya Region warned President Uhuru not to form any political alliance with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The Murang’a Senator also called upon the head of state to support Deputy President William Ruto in his quest for 2022 presidency arguing that Ruto has stood by him since 2013.

His statement comes just hours after Siaya Senator James Orengo who is also a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga claimed that there are some senior government officials who are planning to sabotage the handshake between President Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga and the BBI process.

The Siaya Senator was speaking in Siaya County on Saturday, March 6, 2021 where he threatened to disclose the names of the government officials whom he claimed are planning to short-change Raila in his 2022 presidential bid.

“As Uhuru and Raila talk about the BBI, there is a group of civil servants within the government who have already decided who will rule Kenya in 2022. We saw the Kibaki era and the time of Elder Jomo Kenyatta. This is a warning given to these people, they are trying to remove us, and we will expose them “Orengo said.
