Deputy President William Ruto has predicted that who will be the country’s next Head is State after details emerged on who Mount Kenya region have settled for the presidential post.
The second in command is one of the most potential candidates who have announced their interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta when his term comes to an end.
Speaking on Tuesday 17 August, the Deputy President stated that he has what it takes to go for the country’s top seat and he has what Kenyans want, unlike his opponents who are back on the drawing board to formulate tribal coalitions.
Ruto said that he is the only one speaking about uplifting the life of the ordinary Kenyan and pushing for politics of unity.
The second in command further stated that he is the only one who has the potential to offer economic revolution and political stability, which is badly needed in Kenya.
The DP reportedly made these remarks during a high profile meeting with allies at his Karen residence.
The Second in Command also noted that the benefits he will give to Kenyans make him a better candidate, adding that with the ideas he has for the country he will defeat his rivals.
“How will I fail to defeat them if they are still coalescing around tribal outfits and with no agenda to take Kenya forward?” reads his post as quoted by The Standard.
The DP also took a swipe at the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) stating they are only United to stop his presidential ambition but not to save the country adding that those forming alliances have sensed defeat.
The DP allies who attended his Karen meeting said they will continue working under the UDA party which has solid plans for the country.
“We will continue grouping ourselves under the UDA which is a national party with solid development plans,” said Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Beatrice Nkatha.
