Deputy President William Ruto finally revealed what he whispered to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s years during the launch of the BBI report months ago on October 2020.
During the launch, the head of state accused DP Ruto of engaging in an agenda that is not in line with their earlier agreed one.
In his figurative language, the head of state noted that he had been in a relay race, and as soon as he handed over the baton to William, then he began bolting in the opposite direction rather than the usual.
During his interview with KTN the second in command confirmed that he had told off the President that he had not handed over the baton to him as should be, but rather to the opponents.
Dr. Ruto maintained that he had performed every duty given to him by the constitution and his boss, and had in no way sabotaged him.
“Every duty that has been assigned to me by the President I have performed diligently without fail” Ruto said.
The DP also blamed the mess in the ruling party on the decision by his boss to teaming up with the ODM leader Raila Odinga, and some rogue elements within the party.
“It is unfortunate that the people who were trusted to run Jubilee destroyed the party.
The DP harbors the opinion that the way to de-ethicize the Country is to have stronger political parties, adding that the worst thing to ever happen politically was the merger between ODM and Jubilee.
“I have had the opportunity to discuss these matters with the President but that cannot be a point for this conversation. In my opinion merging Jubilee with ODM is the most tragic thing that has ever happened.” He added.
He noted that he would be facing the 2022 alone like any other Kenyan, and would want to be judged in his own capacity.
“I will be running like any other Kenyan and want to be judged on my record. Even if William Ruto doesn’t merit the President’s support there are eight million other people in Jubilee who merit that support.
“It is not good manners to discuss your boss, so I would want as much as possible to discuss the President” He added.
