DP Ruto denies travelling to Sudan despite Wiper’s Kalonzo confirming meeting him in Sudan

Deputy President William Ruto has denied claims that he travelled out of the country hours before President Uhuru Kenyatta reorganized cabinet.

Through his press secretary David Mugonyi, Ruto said that the claims were false.

“The DP has been around and had no intentions of travelling abroad, not even to Sudan,” Mugonyi said on Thursday.

It had been reported that Ruto left through Wilson Airport aboard a private jet belonging to Phoenix Aviation, registration number 5Y-SIR.

Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka had also confirmed that he met Ruto is Sudan but remained coy over the details of their meeting when addressing the media over the matter.

“I was on my official mission as the Special Envoy in South Sudan and we just bumped into one other with the DP at Khartoum airport,” said Kalonzo, who is Wiper party leader.

The second in command was reportedly accompanied by his close allies who include Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi.
