DP Ruto candidate speaks for the first time hours after humiliating defeat by Wiper party

Following a landslide defeat by the Wiper party candidate Agnes Kavindu, DP Ruto linked candidate Urbanus Ngangele has today conceded defeat.

In his concession speech earlier today, Ngengele said that Kavindu trounced him fair and square in the just concluded by-elections.

“Waswahili husema asiyekubali kushinda siyo mshindani, mimi nimekubali Kavindu amenishinda kwa uwingi wa kura (The Swahili people say that he who doesn’t accept defeat is not a contestant), ” Ngengele said.

The two were in the race to replace former Machakos County Senator Boniface Kabaka who passed on late last year while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Talking shortly after the massive win, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua a Kalonzo Musyoka trusted lieutenant said that Wiper was the party to beat in Ukambani while referring to Muthama as a featherweight in the region.

“Wiper’s win by a landslide is an indication that the people of Ukambani region rejected political merchants who are masquerading as leaders but keen on auctioning the community,” Wambua said.

The legislator added that they had all along anticipated a walkover in the race, with the opponents having no chance.

“We saw this coming and we even warned our opponents that they did not have any fighting chance, Ukambani is under the leadership of Kalonzo Musyoka, who is our kingpin,” he said.

The unassailable win gives Muthama an uphill task in popularizing DP Ruto and his hustler slogan in the region, as was opined by Didmus Mokua.

“It is going to be a tall order for any leader trying to oppose Kalonzo in Ukambani going forward. Muthama has no political capital to match Kalonzo,” political analyst Dismas Mokua said.
