Division rocks Kieleweke faction as DP Ruto ouster takes new twist

Plans to kick out Deputy President William Ruto from the Jubilee party Deputy Chairman position have left President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp divided.

Reports indicate that two groups have emerged with one faction going for the immediate DP’s ouster while the other wanting the matter to be pushed to a later date.

One party wants the DP to be removed immediately as the 2022 politics heats up, while the other prefers that the Head of State should wait, and use the ejection card as anchorage in future political battles.

Confirming the issue, Jubilee party secretary Raphael Tuju said that a meeting had been convened by the National Management Committee to look into it.

“We have a National Management Committee meeting tomorrow but I can neither confirm nor deny if that (ouster) would be on the agenda. “I cannot talk of an agenda before it is adopted by the meeting,” stated Tuju on Sunday, March 21.

The meeting is scheduled to take place ahead of that of the National Executive Council (NEC) which is to come later.

Kiharu legislator Ndindi Nyoro an ardent supporter of the DP in the Mt Kenya region dared the Jubilee party to make good their threat adding that the party is never as it used to be.

“We are not interested, in any one way, in an outfit called Jubilee Party. You have so much baggage. You have taken this country into an abyss of debt. Jubilee, as we know, and as we believe, is a party of the past.

“Do not think you will threaten anyone by purporting that you want to remove the Deputy President. You are removing from something that is neither here nor there,” he claimed.
