Details Of How Senator’s Wife Catherine Prengei Escaped The Fatal Crash That Claimed Husband’s Life

Following the Monday night accident the claimed the life of nominated senator Victor Prengei, details have emerged of how his wife escaped the fatal crash at Kaptembwa along Nakuru- Nairobi highway.

His wife Catherine Prengei had just alighted from their car in which they were travelling together before the deadly crash happened.

Reports from the family who spoke to the Nation indicate that the two were driving back from their Marioshoni farm in Eastern Mau, heading to their Mercy Njeri home, but on the way Catherine boarded a separate vehicle.

Daniel Kobei who spoke on behalf of the family at Umash funeral home noted that Catherine had taken a different vehicle home by the time Victor was involved in the crash.

“The two were together in Nakuru town, but his wife decided to go home earlier leaving him behind. On arriving, she was called and informed that he had been involved in an accident and that he had been taken to the War Memorial Hospital,” Kobei stated.

The deceased brother Joseph Saitoti stated that she received the bad news with great shock having been together with the senator the previous day.

“We shared plans for our family. He had big plans for the Ogiek community and other minority groups,” Saitoti noted.

The family however have not reveal the burial date of the legislator, with plans currently underway.
Senator Victor Prengei was driving from Nakuru towards Ravine when he was involved in the fatal accident that claimed his life. Upon reaching Kioto area, he is said to have lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and ramming into a wall.

He succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the war memorial hospital in Nakuru. His vehicle has since been towed to the Kaptembwa police station.
