Details of how Ex-Lover Helped Police Arrest Chief Suspect in the Kitengela Girl murder

Sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have finally revealed how former boyfriend to the main suspect in the Shantel Nzembi Kitengela murder Mutindi Nthuku helped them arrest her.

This is after the chief suspect made a call to his former lover a General Service Unit (GSU) officer based in Narok County’s Kilgoris seeking financial aid from the officer.

The detectives would then move in with speed, intercepting their call followed by picking up the officer from Narok to Nairobi to help with investigations.

The team together with the officer would then hutch a plot to arrest Nthuku, with the officer calling for a meeting with her ex-girlfriend in Nairobi to which she agreed.

Unsuspecting Mutindi then showed up for the meeting and was arrested by the detectives during the meeting, and the officer was released to go back to work.

During the process the police also recovered details of some previous record where the suspect had been accused of stealing money from her employers M-pesa shop.

She is one of the four suspects arrested for questioning in relation to the murder of the Kitengela minor Shantel Nzembi.

The other three currently in police custody include Livingstone Makacha Otengo, Frankline Mbuthia and Agnes Kasiva Nzioki.

Further reports from the police confirm that they are still in pursuit of another woman who is believed to have been an accomplice to Nthuku.

“The motive of the kidnapping could have been monetary. We have a tight case against the suspects,” Ndubai stated.

Shantel went missing on Sunday, May 30, after she and her friend Sharon were reportedly approached by Nthuku.

Nzambi’s mother Christine Ngina would find her daughter missing in the evening while looking for her, and thereafter began receiving calls from unknown numbers demanding for ransom from her.

The lifeless body of her daughter would then be picked by the roadside the next day.
