As the race to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta gains momentum, details have emerged over KANU Chairman Gideon Moi’s new political plan ahead of 2022 presidential election.
The Baringo Senator is said to have embarked on a mission aimed at borrowing a leaf from his father, the late former President Daniel Arap Moi in a bid to consolidate his support base.
According to sources close to the Baringo Senator, Gideon Moi is focusing on consolidating support within the Great Rift Valley region and other parts of the country where his late father enjoyed massive support during his tenure.
His new political strategy had made his father to enjoy the support from the consolidated regions during his ruling.
This was revealed by his close ally who had pleaded for anonymity adding that Moi will be the man to watch for 2022 presidential election.
“Just watch this space. Senator Moi is on the verge of crafting a well-oiled campaign machine,” he said.
He noted that Gideon has been holding strategic meetings with his advisers and leaders from these regions.
Moi is also said to have adopted his late father’s strategy who had personal advisors across the country during his tenure. He has made a team of political consultants and researchers whose head office is based in Nairobi for his 2022 presidential bid.
KANU youth coordinator Cornelius Rono stated that the party is also involved in the process of empowering the youths across the country with a view to wooing them to join the party.
“We want to empower the youth and make KANU their party of choice,” Rono stated.
KANU Secretary General Nick Salat stated that One Kenya Alliance would be the political outfit to form the next government in 2022.
The alliance comprises of KANU’s Moi, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka
One Kenya Alliance recently detailed their agenda to Kenyans claiming that they are the cure to Kenya’s political issues.
