New details have emerged on why the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga went straight to Statehouse after landing from Mombasa on Tuesday 6 July.
Inside sources privy to the in information revealed that the former Prime Minister went to have a chat with President Uhuru Kenyatta after the Wiper Democratic leader Kalonzo Musyoka asserted that he will not support the ODM Chief for the country’s top seat again.
“I am not a weakling…Raila and I have never sat to discuss 2022. I will be the most stupid person on earth to support Raila Odinga for president for the third time without a measure of reciprocity,” Kalonzo declared.
Sources further revealed that the two leaders agreed that the talks of a coalition between Jubilee and ODM were to remain prudent until they establish Kalonzo’s proclamation which might have forced the President and his handshake partner’s allies to go public.
However, a section of the Head of State’s allies in the ruling Jubilee Party had earlier noted that the coalition talks with ODM were damaging the Jubilee.

“We (Jubilee) want to have active engagement with ODM as we head towards 2022 elections in terms of coming up with an alliance which is in the cards,” Tuju stated.
