Self-declared digital strategist and blogger Dennis Itumbi has unearthed strange activities on the official State House Facebook page.
Taking to social media, Itumbi alleged that part of the strange activities entailed pulling down a picture of Deputy President William Ruto shared earlier in the day (yesterday) during Mashujaa day celebrations.
According to Itumbi, the picture of DP Ruto was pulled down after it had garnered 9000 likes.
The same picture was then posted afresh a few minutes later according to the blogger.
The blogger asserted that the developments point to a worrying trend with parties resorting to questionable underhand means to achieve an objective which he could not understand.
“@StateHouseKenya yaani it has gotten this low? To what end though? Muendelee. Mbarikiwe sana.” Itumbi wrote on Twitter.
The social media has been a critical tool in the battle between the Tanga Tanga and the Kieleweke outfits of Jubilee with both parties actively engaging their followers.
Itumbi has been holding fort for the Tanga Tanga brigade and roasting the Kieleweke team and President Uhuru Kenyatta at every available opportunity.
Most notably, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s official Twitter account was pulled down in unclear circumstances a few minutes after tweeting a serious warning which many opined was directed to his deputy.
“If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest political ally but if you are corrupt we will fight you. I won’t be clouded by ethnicity or status in my quest to leave behind a united nation and I will continue championing for Kenya’s unity,” read the tweet.
State House chief of staff Mr Nzioka Waita clarified that “On account of unauthorised access to the official social media handles of the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, all official social media handles for the President have been temporarily suspended to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken”.
