David Murathe defends DP Ruto, reveals why Jubilee party cannot do without him

Jubilee Party Deputy Chairman David Murathe has come out revealing deep party secrets about the Deputy Party leader William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta despite his conduct and alleged fall out with the party and management.

Speaking during a live interview, with KTN news, Murathe divulged that the Jubilee party cannot punish Deputy President Willam Ruto over what many consider as going against its key decisions.

The former Gatanga legislator went ahead to say that the Jubilee disciplinary council can whip all other members in the party besides the Party Leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Dr. Ruto.

Giving reasons for the disciplinary immunity, Murathe explained that the duo is untouchable because they are the reason they are together as a Jubilee party family.

“The Deputy President and the President who are the Party leader and deputy party leader are the ones who brought us all together, we don’t go there but the rest of them, the members of the NEC, Majority leader like Duale we had to remove… but not those two,” he said.

On the matter of his proposed amendment of the Building Bridges Initiative report, the former legislator said that it was no longer possible since the train had already left the station.

He added that the chapter was closed as soon as the BBI task force presented their final report at the Bomas of Kenya for the unveiling.

This comes after the DP recently convened a meeting with over 150 political leaders, on a consultative and reflective meeting aimed at finding a common ground on the matter.

During the meeting the DP insisted that it was never too late to do the right thing, calling for additionals through amendment.

The DP has on numerous occasions gone against the party decisions, with the most recent being the BBI referendum push, and fielding a candidate for the Msambweni by-elections.
