The no nonsense Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has sent a stern warning to those behind the demise of Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police and Service Edward Njoroge’s daughter Meline Waithera Njoroge.
The Interior CS vowed that those behind Waithera who passed away on Thursday 17 June after being sandwiched between two matatus as she was crossing the road at Tom Mboya Street will face the consequences.
The interior CS stated that the incident was a reminder of crimes that had started in the society that needed to be tweaked with an immediate while speaking during her burial.
“As we come to bury this child, we are also rudely reminded about some vices that happen in our society that we can avoid. How this child died is as a result of reckless matatu drivers,” CS Matiang’i stated
“This is someone who was just walking on the pavement of a road and some fellow who was driving at a place he was not supposed to, hit her. That is how this child met her death,” he added.
The no nonsense CS assured that the perpetrators of the crime would be brought to books and pay dearly for the crime.
“It is moments like this that we are reminded that some of us engage in conduct and behavior that gets us here. Now we are burying a very promising young girl,” he vowed.
“We would not be here today if it were not for some mad characters who were driving all over the place,” Matiang’i added.
