Details have emerged that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is pursuing Tourism CS Najib Balala over a suspicious tender payout worth KSh 100 million at his ministry.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detectives are set to interrogate CS Balala over how the public funds were paid out to a suspicious tender.
The detectives have also indicated that they would demand to know the reasons as to why CS Balala engaged with the supplier before the tender was awarded.
Sources have revealed that CS Balala signed documents meant to be approved by the Principle Secretary, approving the payments for the suspicious tender in his ministry.
The EACC have raised questions as to why the tender was not awarded as per procurement laws.
However, Balala was not available for grilling by the EACC detectives since he was engaged in official duty in Kisumu and requested the EACC to re-schedule it for another date.
