Controversial blogger Robert Alai risk loosing freedom over claims he threatened witness

Controversial Blogger Robert Alai could sink deeper into trouble after musician Alex Apoko, commonly referred as Ringtone, accused him of threatening him and his witnesses in the ongoing assault case.

Ringtone lawyer Evans Ondieki, on Monday filed an application for cancellation of bonds, alleging that Alai had made several threats to his Client and witnesses on the ongoing case

“The blogger also abused and insulted the complainant alleging that he is involved in an international or car thef syndicate and uses music as cover-up. The respondent’s conduct is an effort on the rule of the law and due process,” the application states in part.

“The respondent conduct is a threat to our democracy because it is a show of disrespect to institution and the rule of law. The rule of law is the beacon of our democracy and must be safeguarded at all time.”

Ringtone further urged the Kibera Law Court to not only cancel bond terms give to the blogger for contempt of court but also claims Alai is using Proxies and agents to publish malicious information about him and the court on Social media.

Alai was charged for causing grievous harm to Ringtone following an altercation on July 23 along Cotton Road in Kilimani.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh300,000 or. Sh 1 million bond and is out after compliance with the terms
