Re-known comedian Eric Omondi and his over 16 wife material contestants were earlier today released from the police custody at the Nairobi’s Central police station.
Omondi and his cast of over 15 participants released on Kshs.50,000 awaiting their court case next Thursday, March 18, 2021, to face charges for the production of dirty content.
This after the Kenya Films Classifications Board chairman Ezekiel Mutua yesterday March 11, 2021, ordered his arrest for violating provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya.
According to KFCB boss, the fanny man who runs the show on his social media accounts of Facebook, Instagram, and youtube has never presented the content for classification by the board.
“No film or class of film shall be distributed, exhibited, or broadcast, either publicly or privately, unless the Board has examined it and issued a certificate of approval in respect thereof,” says the Film Board’s Plays Act.
Earlier today, Mutua had taken to his Social media accounts revealing that the war was never against the artists and the young but rather to protect the children against dirty adult content.
“The war is not against artists or the youth. It’s against dirty content. The intention is not to harass artists or stifle creativity. The idea is to promote clean content and protect children against exposure to adult content!” said Dr. Mutua.
His release on Ksh.50,000 bond was confirmed by the Central Division Commander Mark Wanjala.
Omondi and the other 17 participants were seized by authorities on Mombasa Road with a further search at the Kilimani estate.
