Bizarre and eerie; man shot and killed at same spot relative was killed a month earlier

In what will easily pass as one of the most mysterious and strange incidents to take place in the recent past, a man was shot at and killed on the very same spot on which his relative was also shot at and killed.

Following the incident the area police boss David Mathiu said that so far preliminary police investigations were pointing at the dead man having been trailed before he was eventually shot and killed.

Following the incident which took place on Monday night, the body of the dead man was taken to the Coast General Mortuary awaiting postmortem results to officially ascertain the exact cause of death.

According to the police, the male driver of the Toyota Premio, KAZ died on the spot after his car was sprayed with bullets one kilometer from the Changamwe Police Station.

“A Toyota Premio driven by one unknown male was driving from Kibarani towards Changamwe. On reaching Changamwe roundabout, a vehicle approached firing several rounds of ammunition,” the report stated.

It has been reported that just a month ago, a relative of the man was shot and killed at the same spot, and now investigators are trying to piece together evidence to establish whether their deaths might have been related.

Although the police didn’t specify who exactly was the man’s relative that died, it is on record that about a month ago, unknown gunmen sprayed a car with over 20 bullets killing three people.

Confirming the shooting, Changamwe police boss Mr David Mathiu said the vehicle was northbound when its five occupants were ambushed and fired upon. The assailants are said to have been trailing the vehicle in a Toyota Auris.

Mathiu said the driver – James Mwangi – died on the spot while two other occupants succumbed to their injuries on Thursday morning while receiving treatment. The fourth is in critical condition while another fled the scene.
