BACK HOME: Elizabeth Ongoro, Reuben Ndolo and Jakoyo Midiwo rejoin ODM after meeting Raila

Party rebels Elizabeth Ongoro, Jakoyo Midiwo and Reuben Ndolo have rejoined the ODM Party after meeting leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday morning at the party’s Chungwa House in Nairobi.

In August 2017, Ongoro, who was an ODM nominated Senator defected from the party to join ANC after her competitor for the ODM ticket of Ruaraka constituency was given a direct ticket by the party.

The former Senator Ongoro had cited frustration from the party a day after 400 aspirants were handed direct tickets to contest in the August General Election.

She was barred from contesting for Ruaraka parliamentary seat in an apparent disciplinary action after her supporters fought with those of area MP TJ Kajwang in Mathare last month. Two people lost their lives in the incident.

Reuben Ndolo and Jaokoyo Midiwo also decamped from the party over what they termed as irregular issuance of nomination certificates. Their return to the party is a major plus to the outfit as it readies itself for the next General Election.
