Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has called for the Deputy President William Ruto’s immediate arrest and prosecution amid Ruai land saga allegedly grabbed by the DP.
Reports, however, indicate that the land in question is owned by Nairobi City County and it had been allocated for sewer line constr on before it was allegedly grabbed by the Deputy President and the former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo.
The outspoken trade unionist while calling for a stern action to be taken against the second in command, also advocated for the DP’s immediate arrest and prosecution.
Atwoli further called for the repossession of the Ruai land in question which he claims belongs to the public.
” Ruto must be arrested for grabbing public land in Ruai. Thieves who have stolen public land must be jailed and that land be recovered for public use, ” Atwoli advocated.
Atwoli’s calls to have DP Ruto arrested came after Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro hit out at the government claiming the state is selective in fights against land injustices in the country.
Taking to social, Nyoro who seemed to defend DP Ruto over the alleged Ruai land grabbing saga asserting that five families own huge tracks of land in the country which they cannot even account for.
