Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi on Monday, August 9, 2021 unveiled an ambitious economic blueprint.
In his proposed economic model, Mudavadi promised to focus on job creation, fight against corruption, and reduce the public debt if elected the President of Kenya in the forthcoming 2022 Presidential election.
Speaking during the launch of his economic model “uchumi bora kwa wote na pesa mfukoni” the ANC party boss promised to revive the economy and to create opportunities for Kenyans.
“While the pursuit of long-term strategic goals is critical for sustainable development, the immediate well-being of Kenyans is paramount before the prosperity envisioned under “uchumi bora kwa wote pesa mfukoni,” Mudavadi stated.
“The immediate economic concerns of Kenyans under the model are crystallized under the National Economic Recovery Plan Priorities,” he added.
The former Vice President dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s “bottom up approach ” stating that the approaches will not cater for the needs of all Kenyans.
He stated that his model will go along way to fighting corruption in both public and private sector which according to him has dragged Kenya behind for many years.
Mudavadi further revealed that his intention was to restructure the already existing funds and also to revise the current tax regimes to generate more funds for economic development.
As the race for 2022 Presidency gains momentum, it is only time that will tell who among the four One Kenya Alliance (OKA) co-principals, namely; ANC party Leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU party leader Gideon Moi and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula who will be the the flag bearer come 2022 Presidential election.
