Aljazeera’s Catherine Soi’s emotional tribute to fallen husband Robert Soi

Veteran media personality and Aljazeera journalist Catherine Wambua Soi has finally broken her silence penning down an emotional tribute to her fallen husband and former sports journalist Robert Soi.

In her moving message, the grieving Catherine revealed that her heart was broken into pieces following the untimely demise of the former KTN journalist yesterday Wednesday 26, May 2021.

“My heart is broken into a million pieces. He was always our Roberto. Will forever be my Robs. My person has gone and I thank God he went knowing I’ve always had his back no matter what Rest with the angels baby, say hi to our dads. I’ll see you there @R_SOI” reads Catherine Soi’s tribute to hubby.

Journalist Robert Soi passed away at the Nairobi hospital where he had been admitted at the facility’s Intensive Care Unit for over a week.

Reports indicate that the sports journalist was set to undergo a surgery at the facility with news still unclear whether the operation was undertaken or not.

Following his untimely death, messages of comfort and condolences have been pouring in from friends, family and colleagues as below.

Sports Journalist Carol Radull, mourned Soi with a message that reads;
“This is devastating! Veteran Sports Journalist Robert Soi has died in hospital. I have so much love and respect for this man! So humble and gracious! Deep condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. What a loss to the sports industry! Rest in peace Soi. #TrailBlazer”

“Oh no, this is terrible news! Condolences to his family and friends. A former colleague to many of us! #RIP Robert Soi” mourned Janet Mbugua.

“My condolences to the family of Robert Soi. It was an absolute pleasure working with him at Ktn many years ago… I directed him reading sports news and his power to adlib could only be rivaled, ironically, by another departed colleague Ahmed Darwesh… R.I.P Champ…” Mourned Kibisu Mulanda.

“Rest in peace Robert Soi. He was that cool, quiet, confident chap in the Standard Group newsroom. May the good Lord comfort Catherine and the entire Soi’s family. May he rest in sporting peace.” Wrote Boniface Mwangi.
