US-based former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyne Akombe has broken her silence BBI task force member John Sei who spilled the beans on how they were cornered to signed the BBI document that had allegedly been doctored.
Akombe came out thanking him for doing the right thing in speaking up on a section of the contentious document allegedly doctored and how they were cornered to sign the document.
The eloquent United Nations employee and a sharp critic of the handshake praised Seii for his courageous move in spilling the beans, a move she said could propel other task force members in letting out more.
Taking to Twitter, Akombe lauded Major Seii’s courageous move, opining that the step could save the Country from the autocratic dictatorship by the government.
“Never too late to do the right thing. Thank you Major Seii for the courage to speak up against the flawed process that led to the #BBIReport. I know that this was a tough one for you and I hope it encourages other members to speak up and save the country from autocracy and waste.” Wrote Akombe.
Major Seii opened up on the contentious BBI report revealing that a section of the draft especially on the three arms of government was altered without the knowledge of the task force members.
“What happened in Naivasha shocked all of us because Kenyans said they’re satisfied. The inclusivity that Kenyans talked about was mainly sharing resources at the county level but it has been made to look like it was about creating positions at the top,” he revealed
Speaking at Emoo FM, Seii disowned the draft stating that at no point did the Kenyans call for an expanded executive with a Prime Minister and his two deputies during the Countrywide views collections.
John added that they agreed on the position of the official opposition leader to address the issue of the winner take it all, but not an expanded government with additional 70 seats too.
