Seemingly on a mission to try and find out just how far he can push his anti-Raila button, lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi is giving the impression of a man who is determined to either impress someone somewhere very much, or on the contrary, annoy someone somewhere very much with his impassioned insults against the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. If ever a red line existed then he clearly crossed it yesterday with an unbelievable and scathing attack filled with vulgarities against the ODM party leader.
All this was unfolding on ntv’s weekly show, With All Due Respect, which is hosted every Tuesday by James Smart. The guests on the show were Ahmednasir Abdullahi, and fellow lawyer Migai Aketch.
The discussion mainly focused on the situation of the legal and judicial system in Kenya, ranging from issues such as Uhuru’s tussle with the courts, to legislation appearing to purposely target the Judiciary.
At the tail end of the show, James Smart asked Ahmednasir what he thought of his “beloved” Jubilee, to which he responded by saying it was of course dead. Smart then asked him why he hates ”baba” (a reference to Raila) so much, and this seemed to set off the controversial lawyer who then flew off at a tangent. He said that he doesn’t hate Raila, but only happens to hold him to higher standards.
”I always tell people, I don’t hate a corrupt Judge. What I hate is a corrupt Judge who pontificates, talking about the importance of a bench with ethics all the time. Likewise, I don’t hate a corrupt politician. What I hate is a corrupt politician who is always pontificating, talking about the importance of upholding integrity…it can only be compared to a prostitute who is always talking about the virtues of a good lady.”
