In a disturbing admission that is expected to not only open fresh discussion about Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, but also reawaken rumours that have always surrounded him about corruption, the former member of the Judicial Service Commission has now come out to admittedly say that he has no problem at all with a judge who is corrupt.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi, who interestingly was once the president of the Law Society of Kenya, said this, despite the fact that a compromised judge is set to affect, not just the litigants, but members of the Law profession as well.
All this was unfolding on ntv’s weekly show, With All Due Respect, which is hosted every Tuesday by James Smart. The guests on the show were Ahmednasir Abdullahi, and fellow lawyer Migai Aketch.
The discussion mainly focused on the situation of the legal and judicial system in Kenya, ranging from issues such as Uhuru’s tussle with the courts, to legislation appearing to purposely target the Judiciary.
In an unexpected statement to the show’s host, and which took his co-guest, lawyer Migai Aketch by surprise too, Ahmednasir confessed that he has no issue with a corrupt judge, and that as a matter of fact, what he dislikes is a corrupt judge who tries to present the image of a good and clean practitioner.
”I always tell people, I don’t hate a corrupt Judge. What I hate is a corrupt Judge who pontificates, talking about the importance of a bench with ethics all the time…”
Worth noting is that during the public and dramatic breakup between the current LSK president, and his girlfriend, the couple’s disagreement degenerated into a sensational online exchange where Havi’s ex-girlfriend accused him of involvement in corrupt dealings with lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi.
