Business in Webuye town in Bungoma County came to a standstill when police officers arrested 21 teenagers at an alcohol-filled birthday party at a local hotel.
Reports indicate that the law enforcers moved in swiftly after a tip-off by the locals about what was happening at the hotel.
Confirming the incident Webuye OCPD Valerian Obore said that the police officers acted after information from the locals about the minors partying at the hotel.
The police boss warned parents to be careful of what their children engage in during these times that they do not go to school to avoid indulging in unlawful activities like alcoholism.
This comes barely hours after police in Nairobi’s arrested yet another group of 44 teenagers and their female host Millicent Kithinji at the Nairobi’s Mountain view estate.
” Detectives last night arrested 44 school children and their host, and seized various brands of alcohol and bhang in a house at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate. The children – 26 boys and 18 girls – are aged between 14 and 17 years. All are in primary and high schools.” Wrote DCI on Social Media.
Police reports indicate that the teenagers aged between 14-17 years hailed from Kiambu, Machakos, and Nairobi Counties, and of them, 26 boys and 18 girls are learners in primary and secondary schools.
