Ongoma’s Goal Seals Second Win For Ulinzi Stars
Ulinzi Stars came away 3-0 winners in their FKF Premier League midweek fixture against FC Talanta played at Kasarani Annex.
They took the lead in the 21st minute through Hillary Simiyu’s penalty kick. Enosh Ochieng added to the scores in the 37th minute.
Bernard Ongoma sealed the win for Ulinzi Stars with his goal in the 52nd minute.
Benson Omala’s lone goal saw Gor Mahia beat Bandari FC and close the gap to current league leaders Tusker to within 2 points.
Wazito drew 0-0 with Bidco United at the Muhoroni Stadium.
A stubborn AFC Leopards denied a high flying Kakamega Homeboyz the chance to momentarily go top of the 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League as they forced a barren draw in their Wednesday league clash staged at Nyayo National Stadium.
Prior to the match, both teams came to the encounter with high expectations after contrasting fortunes marked their form book ahead of the tie.
“We came looking for the three points in today’s match but we only managed one. Being that we were playing away from home, I think we’ll take that today,” John Baraza, Homeboyz coach noted.
“Considering how we have played in the past, I take today’s game as a big positive because we were competitive in the entire ninety minutes. As a team, I think we are slowly improving,” Ingwe’s Patrick Aussems assessed.
