Rigathi Gachagua finally breaks silence after president Uhuru Kenyatta’s speech in Kirinyaga

Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua has finally break silence hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s released his speech in Kirinyaga.

Talking to his Facebook account, the legistlator said the curfew which was put in place as one of the measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, was unnecessary and was just an avenue for police officers to make money from Kenyans.

“I shall continue exercising my representation role in talking behalf of the people…the curfew was unnecessary and was an avenue for the police to make money from struggling Kenyans,” the legistlator said.

He went ahead and said; “I am happy that the President has listened to the people of Kenya and done the right thing; to do away with the curfew. We are happy that the people of Kenya can now go back to work without harassment from the Police and over zeleous administrative officials.

He further thanked the Head of State of listening to the will of the people and focus on reviving the economy and completing the ongoing projects instead of spending his time planning his own succession.

On Wednesday, during the 58th Mashujaa day celebration at the Wang’uru stadium in Kirinyaga county, President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew effective immediately.

“I hereby order that the nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew that has been in effect from March 27,2020 be and is hereby vacated with immediate effect,” Uhuru announced amid rapturous applause from those in the stadium.
